Ahhh... sodium nitrate! I asked my club members to write any massage on a piece of paper using sodium nitrate. It's like a "secret message" thing. Then, when the whole thing was dried, they ignited the small part of their message with a smoldering match stick (no fire) and poof! Message revealed.This activity was fun and smelly. The club members loved the smoke and they were oooohhhhs and aaahhhhs when the message appeared.
